Technical Office Engineer/Somalia

We are looking for a Technical Office Engineer to be based in Mogadishu for our road construction project in
Somalia.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering department from a reputable university
  • Fluency in both verbally and written English
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in which minimum 3 years in road construction or infrastructure projects
  • Minimum 5 years experience in technical office applications
  • Being completed at least one large scale similar international project
  • Sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office applications
  • Understanding of reading contract documents and specifications
  • Sound knowledge of related technical specifications
  • Having basic understanding of policies and procedures and be able to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
  • Able to work multi-task and meet strict deadlines
  • Ability work under multicultural environment
  • Ability to work under stress

Duties:

  • Preparation, review and coordination of contract documents, plans and procedures, all engineering design submittals in coordination with head office
  • Co-ordination with internal team, client, consultants and sub-contractors on document control
  • Prepare, respond and assist technical submissions, design and shop drawings layouts as well as material submittals.
  • Coordinate between the designers/subcontractors and clients’ engineering teams/consultants ensuring that all requirements are conveyed clearly and delivered upon.
  • Prepare and/or control quantity surveying, payment applications and change orders in coordination with head office
  • Design liaison between consultant & design team
  • Maintain organized and detailed project records
  • Preparation of subcontractor contracts
  • Assisting in reparation of project implementation plans and procedures, method statements etc.
  • Status report preparation for incorporation into the Monthly Reports, other reports, and presentation for scheduled and ad-hoc meetings
  • Preparation of daily and weekly progress report
  • Coordination with different departments for the collection of data for cost, budget and progress measurement and preparation related reports in coordination with head office
  • Measurement of progress against baseline program and preparation of related reports
  • Preparation of materials tracking reports
  • Take part in project and risk management reviews
  • Documenting project issues/conditions
